LEGENDARY
general rules.
SERIOUS ENFORCEMENT.
I. there will be no examples of harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any form in legendary in away way, shape, or form. if you are caught harassing another member, there will be little lenience for the aggressor.
II. please avoid very sensitive or potentially triggering topics in all public chats. this includes examples of politics, religion, offensive language, and other potentially sensitive topics; dm's are an appropriate place for such discussions with a party willing to participate in said discussion, but never in a public space.
III. no blatant not safe for work (NSFW) content! we are a PG-15+ role-play, yes, but explicit content (whether nudity, excessive gore, or generally very inappropriate content) will be immediately deleted from anywhere it is posted and you will be sent a stern message regarding our rules and given a warning.
MODERATE ENFORCEMENT.
I. mate-begging is forbidden, even discreetly. this means don't pester somebody about being mates unless they are also mutually interested in the idea, or force a ship unto them!
II. realism. when designing your character, be sure they have realistic colours! we are fairly lenient in "atypical" design, like unique piebalding patterns and rosetted cats, more than would realistically exist in a wild-cat setting, but if your colours are unrealistic you'll be asked to redesign.
III. purebred and wild cats are not permitted, unless they are formerly a kittypet who escaped from a breeding program/home. if your character has traits very specific to a purebred cat, such as a bengal, maine coone, toyger, rex, et cetera, they are required to - as some point in their history - have a purebred ancestor. further, wild cat mixes are not allowed, such as savannah cats and servals.
NORMAL ENFORCEMENT.
I. don't bring in-character feelings into out-of-character! If your character dislikes another person's character, don't bring that negativity into out of character interaction! please know, recognize, and respect the difference between ic and ooc.
II. don't advertise your role-play in legendary! commissions, artwork, and other ways to support you as a creator and writer are encouraged in the right channels or forum space! but please don't advertise yours or a friend's role-play in legendary.
III. naming. prefixes can't be repeated in the same clan; this might be very frustrating if your longstanding oc has the same prefix as someone already in your clan, but this helps to avoid general confusion when trying to reach out to one or the other. likewise, full names cannot be doubled in the roleplay; for example, there can't be a frostflower in lionclan and in tigerclan. our taken names guide will let you know if a name is available!
in-character rules.
SERIOUS ENFORCEMENT.
I. no meta-roleplaying or godmodding. don't take the knowledge you know out of character to your characters in-character, such as them mysteriously somehow knowing about an important plot point before it happens, when they should have no relevant knowledge about this.
II. actions have consequences. everything your character does can and could potentially have consequences - good or bad. be transparent with your leader with the plots you plan to put your characters through - and know that you may not get away with everything in-character, especially if it has to do with breaking the warrior code, having an illegal relationship in another clan, etc.
III. no forbidden romance without explicit permission! even if is just a fling, you will need to file a ticket to explain to staff (and your leaders) the nature of any form of romantic relationship that would be illegal in the clans - whether it's loner/clan, medicine cat/warrior, or two different clan cats. know that there will be a dice roll for every single interaction between them, though, and if the dice do not roll in your favor, your characters could be exposed and potentially punished for their affair. ((please note that one-sided crushes/attractions do not need to be dice rolled!))
MODERATE ENFORCEMENT.
I. kits and litters. please be mindful of how potentially overrun your clan might be if you choose to have a large litter; you might even be asked to wait or reconsider the number of kittens in a litter if you come forward to ask for a nursery slot with the medicine cat, and there is already a full litter and multiple apprentices. schedule your litter with a time that seems sensible and thoughtful of how full with kits your clan already is!
II. character deaths. if you want to kill off your character, inform your leader or resident clan staff member! we're willing to work with you to find an ideal time to dispatch them, and give your character a unique role or death.
III. character removal. if you no longer have any interest in playing a character but don't feel like role-playing a death, you're allowed to discuss with your leader/resident clan staffer on how to remove them! every member is allowed three removal slots - where they can completely scrap a character they've owned for at least two full real-life weeks, no consequence whatsoever. this rest period is to see if we can help you get engaged with the character and if it fails, you can simply scrap them!
IV. character histories. in this alternate reality of warriors, there was no windclan, riverclan, et cetera - there has only been lionclan, tigerclan, and leopardclan! how they formed is unimportant now, it's been lost to time. that being said, please don't have a character come from a faraway clan! however, there can be occasions or exceptions if a cat possibly runs from the tribe of rushing water, or was priorly a loner, rogue, or kittypet - but please, please inform your leader if your character is not clan-born so that this can be taken into account, as these slots per clan are limited to three. (fun fact: in lionclan, outsiders are forbidden from joining completely!)
V. border role-play. you don't need leader's permission to roleplay border interactions (unless it is of romantic intent so the dice can be rolled)! feel free to role-play cross-clan interactions at the border, whether it's peaceful or aggressive. (if you plan to get hurt, please inform the medicine cat and plan it out beforehand so it's not a shocker!)
NORMAL ENFORCEMENT.
I. character slots. this is labelled normal, as it's quite easy to spot when someone's brought in a new character, but still an important rule nonetheless. every member upon joining is allowed up to three character slots - and a fourth may be auditioned for if the member is active and dedicated! PLEASE tell a leader if you are planning to add a new character into their clan!
II. you are allowed to be in two clans! ...at least for now. until legendary gets its feet off the ground, every member is allowed to be in two clans at one time! why not? of course, if you have a high rank in one clan, we expect you to be more active and engaging in that clan over your secondary. this right to have a paw in each clan can be revoked, however, if you are shown carrying ooc knowledge to ic, like spoiling war plans and the like.
III. no orphan kits. they aren't allowed. your kit must have a parent figure that is not an NPC in your clan. this is to prevent overmass of kits arriving in a clan, and encouraging folks to adopt kits from a couple's litter!
IV. gender. we understand that this is just a cat role-play, it's not real and it's not supposed to be inherently realistic, for cats. we allow cats who are non-binary, genderfluid, transgender, or any other gender non-conforming standard - but it is required of the player of said character to do so tastefully and respectfully. if we find you are representing in a crude, disrespectful, or tasteless manner, you will be approached and asked to improve or risk having this taken from you. (the founder is not cisgender, and sees no issue with this rule if strictly monitored in what cases do show!)
