The Black Eagle of the Mountains
A tall tale passed down from ancient WindClan tells of a monstrous eagle that flies down from the mountains on dark, moonless nights. With feathers black as night, it's impossible to see it until it is too late, plucking unsuspecting warriors up from the moor, never to be seen again. The only proof patrols ever found of its presence were massive black feathers left where claw-marks had been webbed into the ground.
The Legend of the Great Badger
Long ago there was a terrible badger, the size of a hundred warriors, who posed a terrible danger to the entirety of the lake. One night at a Gathering, when the Clans had had enough, they wondered who was brave enough to face the badger. A group of WindClan apprentices spoke up, stating that they would stop the badger from destroying the forest - and the cats of all five Clans laughed, stating that it was impossible.
The next day those same apprentices, unfettered by the laughter of the other Clans, found the Great Badger and lured it onto the moor, and trapped its huge paws in burrows so that it could no longer move. They killed the monster, working together to bite its neck and stop its reign of terror at the lake once and for all. They went home victorious, and when WindClan came the next morning to see, they found that the earth had grown over the back of the badger, forming a new, giant hill that oversaw the entire lake and surrounding territories, a rock growing where the apprentices had bitten down together on the badger's neck to end it.
It was StarClan's way of thanking WindClan for ending the terrible creature, giving them a vantage point so that they could see the entirety of the forest and the other Clans.
